Statistics for Smoking

  • Based on 2017 data, about 48,000 people in Canada die from tobacco use each year. Since 2000, cigarettes have killed more than 1 million people in Canada.

Vaping isn't good for your health either!

While many people might think that vaping isn't harmful, it actually isn't much better than smoking.

Vapes heat nicotine (extracted from tobacco), flavorings and other chemicals to create an aerosol that you inhale. Regular tobacco cigarettes contain 7,000 chemicals, many of which are toxic. While nobody knows exactly what chemicals are in e-cigarettes, Blaha says “There’s almost no doubt that vaping exposes you to fewer toxic chemicals than smoking traditional cigarettes.
